We were approached by someone last week that asked how they would “create a mobile website” for their full website. Our response was “you can create a full blown mobile website, but you will pay more for that that you would to have a whole new website, built responsively”.
Now, let me make this clear; you don’t have to have a responsive website. However, with over 40% of browsing done on mobile devices these days, why wouldn’t you?
A responsive website ensures that users can browse your website without having to pinch in and out to view different pages and to ready text. It is designed to make their life easier, and you can only benefit from having a responsive website.
In terms of usability, a website that is clear on all devices, easy to navigate, easy to use and easy to read is so much better than a full site that shows the same on a phone as it does on a desktop PC.
So, think to yourself. Should I pay to have a mobile site designed, or should I have one website that responds in terms of look and functionality to all devices?
Its clear that mobile browsing needs to be catered for, and what better way to do it than with one of our responsive websites. For an example visit these two websites on a desktop and then on a tablet and phone:
https://www.innuvo.co.uk – This is our website that responds to all devices
http://icandyclothing.co.uk – This is a site that we have done, a full blows shop website, that works really well on all devices too.
